ABSTRACT
The poultry farming industry is undergoing significant transformation through the integration of Smart Manufacturing and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, aimed at optimizing efficiency, improving productivity, and enhancing sustainability. This paper explores the application of these technologies in poultry farm management, focusing on their impact on feed conversion, animal welfare, resource usage, and overall operational efficiency. IoT-enabled sensors and smart manufacturing systems are deployed to monitor and control critical parameters such as temperature, humidity, air quality, and feed distribution. These systems provide real-time data that can be analyzed to make precise, data-driven adjustments, improving flock health, reducing waste, and minimizing labor costs. Automated feeding systems, health monitoring through wearable sensors, and environmental controls have led to a notable reduction in feed conversion ratios (from 2.2 to 1.7) and mortality rates (from 8% to 4%) on IoT-enabled farms, compared to traditional farm setups. The integration of cloud-based platforms and data analytics facilitates predictive maintenance and early disease detection, further enhancing farm productivity and sustainability.
